Taiwan Ministry
opportunities to share God’s truth
Since Taiwan’s first Basic Seminar in 1993, the Lord has granted opportunties for ATI students to minister to the Chinese people. The students’ testimony at the seminar and in school visitations caught the attention of government officials, as well as the media. Their faithfulness has opened two distinct avenues of ministry in Taiwan today.
Teaching English
In 2001, the King Car Education Foundation invited ATI students to run Character/English camps during winter recess. These camps were so well received that the Department of Education in the Nantou and Chiayi counties hired ATI students as assistant English teachers in their elementary schools. The Lord is also opening doors to teach English in China. The Anderson family is currently teaching at a senior high school near Shanghai. For more information on these six-month to one-year trips, contact the International Department, and be sure to attend the next available TESOL training.
Children’s Institute
For those who want a “taste” of ministry in Asia, the short-term Taiwan Children’s Institute trip may be just the thing. You will have the opportunity to minister to both children and local assistants, who will serve as interpreters. Find out more about International Children’s Institutes.
“The relationships we were able to develop with the people were really the highlight of the trip. There were so many special people that we were able to minister to and be ministered to by them. Everything from giving us rides, to serving us very strange Taiwanese dishes, our friends made us feel at home and welcome. It was so amazing how open they were to the Gospel.
“The trip as a whole was extremely stretching—a time of amazing spiritual growth and strengthening. I know that I speak for my whole team when I say that God was faithful to each one of us, to give us the strength and wisdom that we needed so many different times. We are indeed very grateful to Him for all that He did through us and in us during the course of our trip.” —Andrew Fear, Chaiyi Team Leader, 2003
